【Testing Modes】
Mode 1: A circular sample rubs against fabric of the same material under a given pressure along a Lissajous figure trajectory. After reaching the specified number of rotations, the pilling grade of the sample is evaluated. This principle corresponds to the test for fabric pilling degree specified in standards (24×24mm).
Mode 2: A circular fabric sample rubs against standard abrasive under a certain pressure along a Lissajous curve trajectory, resulting in sample damage. The abrasion resistance of the fabric is expressed by the number of abrasion cycles until sample damage. This principle corresponds to the fabric abrasion resistance test specified in standards (60×60mm).
Mode 3: A circular fabric sample rubs against standard abrasive under a certain pressure along a linear trajectory, resulting in sample damage. The abrasion resistance of the fabric is expressed by the number of abrasion cycles until sample damage. This principle corresponds to the fabric abrasion resistance test specified in standards (100mm).
[Scope of Application]
Used for the standard rating of all test samples such as Martindale pilling, ICI pilling, ICI snaging, random tumble pilling, and circular trajectory pilling and fuzzing. The rating result is obtained by comparing the sample with the standard chart under a specified light source.
